GAETA - John N., 91, of Cliffside Park, NJ, formerly of West New York, and North Bergen, NJ, on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Born in Weehawken, NJ on May 20, 1924 to John Gaeta and Angelina (nee Lapadula) Gaeta. Beloved husband to the late Maria (nee Sammarco) Gaeta. Loving father of John Gaeta, his wife Grace, and Anthony Gaeta, his wife Pat. Cherished grandfather of Cynthia Barone, John T. Gaeta, Gina Rotondo, and Jennifer Ortiz. Caring great-grandfather of 7 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Rocco and Eugene Gaeta, and Rose Modica. Dear uncle to Dolores Schwerzler, her husband, Ray, and Richard Gaeta, his wife Diane and many grand nieces and nephews. As a proud member of the Greatest Generation, John joined the Army Air Corp. during WWII in 1943. He was assigned to the 450th Bomb Group in Manduria, Italy where he met and married Maria in 1945. His awards included Presidential Unit Citation, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign with 9 Battle Stars, the WWII Victory Medal and the US Army Good Conduct Medal. Funeral from McCorry Brothers, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ, on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 9:15 AM.
