DABBS - Joseph J., of Fort Lee, NJ, died peacefully on August 5, 2016. He was 92. He was born and raised in Cliffside Park, NJ, where he attended the public schools and graduated from Seton Hall University after enlisting in the Army. During WWII, he served as a tank mechanic in the Pacific Theater and his service decorations and citations include an American Theatre Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Philippine Liberation Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, and a WW II Victory Medal. Until recently he was an active member of the Cairola-Barber Post #2342 VFW in Fort Lee. He also enjoyed antique cars and belonged to the Restored Rusty Relics Antique Car Club in Bergen County. He is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy C. (Miller) Dabbs and survived by his three children, Joseph C. Dabbs and his wife Arlene of Hermosa Beach Ca., John Dabbs of Ft. Lee NJ, and Marianne Dabbs Biglin and her husband George of Ridgefield Ct. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Margaret Ann and Joseph C. Dabbs jr., and Kathleen, William, Kevin and Andrew Biglin. Friends may call on Friday 8/12/16 from 4pm-8pm at Mc Corry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ.
