Obituary of Maria R. Neubert

Maria (Mimi) Neubert, age 79, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Maria, the daughter of Colette and Joseph Rossi, was born in Cliffside Park, NJ on February 13, 1937. Maria spent many summers in her youth working at the popular family owned Ho-Maid Ice Cream Parlor. After graduating from Cliffside Park High School, Maria attended the prestigious Katharine Gibbs School-New York City and enjoyed many years working as a secretary. Married in 1959 to her loving husband Don, they settled in Ridgefield to raise their family. In her later years, Maria and Don moved to Florida near her oldest daughter and the beach. A loving, caring, and devoted wife and mother, Maria is survived by her husband of 57 years Donald E. Neubert Sr. and her five children, Donna Hambos and her husband George, Joseph Neubert and his wife Lucia, Donald Neubert Jr. and his wife Claire, Susan Neubert and Debbie Pirsos (predeceased by son-in-law Tom Pirsos). Maria cherished with all her heart her sisters Angela Rossi, Joanne Serhat, and her husband Mike, her 11 beautiful grandchildren, Charlie, Jacob, Christopher, Maria, Sammy, Alex, Sofia, Vincent, George, Joseph & Robert, and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Maria's love for people extended well beyond her own family. She will always be remembered for making everyone around her feel special and loved. Those that had the pleasure of sharing in Maria's life will forever be better for it. Visitation will be held at McCorry Brothers, 780 Anderson Avenue Cliffside Park, NJ, on Thursday October 13, 2016 from 4-8PM. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Matthews R.C. Church, 555 Prospect Avenue Ridgefield, NJ, on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:00 am. Burial at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY.
