Obituary of Edna Florence Schaffner

Edna Schaffner (nee Hubacek), 78, of Fort Lee, NJ, died on Saturday, December 2nd while recovering from surgery in Chesapeake, VA.  Edna was born and raised in Fort Lee, NJ, where her family has resided for over 125 years. Edna will be lovingly remembered by her children: William and his wife Kelly; and Sandra and her husband David. Also by her grandchildren: Adam Welch and his wife Brandy; Stephen, Will and Scarlet Schaffner; and Emma and Lily Ditman.  And great-grandchild: Tucker Welch.

 

Edna worked for Prudential Life Insurance and Prentice Hall Publishing during her career.  She loved to travel in her convertible Camaro and enjoyed ballroom dancing. Edna was a member of First Baptist Church in Cliffside Park, NJ, in her earlier years where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary.  Edna will be dearly missed.

 

Both visitation and funeral service will be held at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 10th from 6-8PM and Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 11th 10:30 AM.  A graveside service will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Englewood, NJ.
