Theodore E. Schmitt of Fort Lee, NJ, age 69, lovingly known as “Uncle Teddy,” passed away on March 17th, 2021, at Palisades Medical Center with his nieces Shelly Morrison and Wendy Banks-Manganaro by his side. On August 16th, 1951, he was born in Denver, Colorado, to Lucy and Theodore Schmitt (both predeceased). Lovingly known as everyone’s “Uncle Teddy,” he was a beloved hairdresser for fifty years. His career started by traveling the World doing hair shows with Peter Bernard. At the height of his long career, Teddy was the partner at Theo Haircutting in NYC and Caché in NJ. He also owned Le Magnifique in NYC. To know Teddy, you knew he was larger than life itself, and his presence brought joy into any room he entered. His name brings warm memories of love and laughter to all that knew him. Yet, nothing was more important to him than his family. He was a devoted brother to Cathy M. Banks and Jack C. Schmitt and his wife, Doreen. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, Shelly K. Morrison and partner Dean Wallace, Wendy H. Manganaro, and her husband Jean, Ryan, and Alyssa Schmitt. He is also survived by his great-nieces and nephews Abigail and Madison Wallace, and Cole Manganaro. Visitation will be held at McCorry Brothers, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ 07010 Sunday the 21st from 6-8 pm.
