I’ve been honored and blessed to have Gerry in my life for over 30 years. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, your love of animals, literature, and the incredible history you’ve lived through. Thank you for openly sharing your political views and for allowing me to offer the positive side of most situations. Most of all, thank you for being such a caring and loving mother-in-law, for entrusting me with your care until your final days, and for being the most loving and devoted grandmother to my son, Spencer.
You will be forever etched in my heart.
With love and respect,
Joann

rest well my lovely lady Geraldine, from the first time I laid my eyes on you there was something about you that I love. you were always quiet, sitting in your room always speaking about your son Micheal. You told me to never forget you, and I promise to always love and remember you always. Rest well my sweet angel. From Sushana.

Gerry and I shared a beautiful bond and gift; our precious grandson, Spencer. She loved to share her deep wisdom, passion for books, and self-taught knowledge of wildlife. She was a self-taught avid birdwatcher and enjoyed sharing her bird books and knowledge with Spencer. They would ask each other the names and species of birds when they walked together. She enjoyed The Blue Planet nature documentaries and would patiently sit through many repeat viewings of these while cuddling him. Gerry and Spencer shared a deep mutual love and respect for each other. The years made us very good friends; I always enjoyed her profound wealth of knowledge and many insights. She always expressed herself in a beautiful poetic and elegant manner. She was a soft, dignified lady. I loved how her eyes twinkled when she saw her son, Michael, and how she glowed at the sound of Spencer’s voice in the room. Spencer was magic to her and she to him. He loved his Grandma G deeply. Most of all, I love and will always cherish the special mutual love and bond she always shared with my daughter, Joann. May you rest in eternal peace until we meet again dearest Gerry. With love, Carmen and Winston

When I first met Gerri, one of the first things she asked me was if I had read Dominicana by Angie Cruz. Since I hadn't, she immediately went to her bookshelf and handed me her copy. For the next hour, we delved into discussions about Dominican politics and the influence of the U.S on it. Gerri was a profound thinker, full of knowledge and undeniable passion for learning. I will truly miss our deep conversations.
