It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul R Johannemann Sr, who departed this life on March 19th, 2025, at the age of 85. Paul passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Paul was born in East Rutherford NJ to August and Mabel and lived in Bayonne, lived most of his life in Cliffside Park then eventually settled down in Beach Haven West, Manahawkin NJ.
Paul was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Eileen Johannemann, with whom he shared years of wonderful marriage until her passing in 1998, his brother James and Sisters Patricia and Helen.
Paul later found love again and is survived by his wife, Debbie, who brought him joy and companionship in his later years.
A man of kindness and unwavering strength, Paul touched the lives of many through his generosity, wisdom and humor. He leaves behind his children, Lisa (Mike) Zarcone, Paul (Tina) and Glen (Sherry) as well as 9 grandkids Melissa, Paul, Nicole, Eric, Justin , Cheyenne, Samantha , Tabatha, Sabrina and 4 great grandchildren CJ, Logan, Cole , Alayjah whom he adored! Paul also leaves behind his older brother Bernard Johannemann, and many nieces and nephews.
Paul spent most of his life in Cliffside Park where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer firefighter and was a staple in Cliffside Parks Little League baseball program. Later in life he could be seen on the different fields where his grandchildren were playing and enjoying every game.
Paul worked for the Sheet Metal Union #25 with Blickman Equipment working in a warehouse in Union City NJ that made sheet metal industrial sized coffee urns for restaurants and diners.
Being a parishioner of Epiphany Church in Cliffside, Paul loved calling the bingo game nights in the Epiphany Church Hall even though he was getting yelled at for not calling the right numbers. Paul was also a member of the Holy Name Society.
Paul loved living in Beach Haven West where he enjoyed spending time at the beach, raking the rocks around his house, sitting on his front porch feeding the ducks and then heading to the back deck to feed the swans in his lagoon.

Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2025, from 4PM to 8PM at McCorry Bothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park NJ. Family and friends are invited to gather at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, Tuesday, March 24, 2025, at 10:30 AM for a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Cremation will be private.
