Obituary of Patricia Ann Citro
Patricia Ann "Pat" Citro
February 12, 1941 – June 14, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann "Pat" Citro, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who peacefully departed this life surrounded by love.
Born on February 12, 1941, to James and Cornelia DeGregorio in West New York, NJ, Pat brought warmth and joy to everyone she encountered throughout her 84 years. She graduated from Memorial High School, where she proudly served as a majorette and even had a memorable role in the movie "A Face in the Crowd" starring Andy Griffith. Pat went on to work as a secretary in New York City before becoming a successful business owner in Paterson, NJ.
In 1964, she married the love of her life, Richard Citro, beginning a beautiful partnership that would become the foundation of a loving family. Pat and Richard were blessed with two sons, Richard and Christopher, who were the light of her life. As a devoted mother and later a cherished grandmother to Connor and Logan, Pat created a home filled with laughter, delicious aromas, and unconditional love. Her greatest joy came from gathering family and friends around her table, where Sunday meals became legendary celebrations of togetherness. The Citro house was a beacon of hospitality, where extended family and friends knew they would always find a warm welcome, a fabulous meal, and Pat's infectious smile.
Pat lived by a simple but profound philosophy: family, friends, and food were life's greatest treasures. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel like family, and her kitchen was the heart of countless cherished memories. Her culinary talents were matched only by her generous spirit and her ability to bring people together. Pat's love extended beyond her immediate family to her cherished sister, nieces, and nephews, who held special places in her heart.
Pat is survived by her devoted son Christopher and his beloved daughter-in-law Natalka, her treasured grandchildren Connor and Logan, her loving sister, Arlene and her brother-in-law Eddie and her many beloved nieces and nephews, who will continue to honor her legacy of love, hospitality, and family devotion.
A visitation celebrating Pat's remarkable life will be held on Thursday, June 19th from 3PM-7PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 20th at Epiphany Roman Catholic Church, 247 Knox Ave, Cliffside Park, NJ 07010.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Pat's memory by gathering with your loved ones, sharing a meal, and celebrating the bonds that make life meaningful—just as Pat would have wanted.
Pat's legacy lives on in every family gathering, every shared meal, and every act of love and hospitality. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
