1939 – 2025

Mabel LaCruz, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2025, surrounded by love.

Born in Uruguay, Mabel made Jersey City, New Jersey her home for over 40 years, where she built a life of resilience, independence, and quiet grace.

Mabel was known for her sharp sense of humor, her flair for fashion, and her love of shopping. She had a quick wit and a laugh that could brighten any room. Whether cracking a joke or stitching a perfect hem, she brought style and personality to everything she did.

Above all, Mabel adored her daughter, Yasira Perez, who was her pride and joy - Her constant companion through every chapter of life.

She was also a loving sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and spirit touched many.

She will be remembered for her strength, elegance, and the way she always made people smile.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st from 3-7PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park NJ. Funeral will be Friday, August 1st at 10:30AM at the funeral home and then to Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07306 for an 11:30 burial.
