Joan, I only had the privilege of knowing you for six short years, but the impact you made will last a lifetime. Your legacy is one that will never be forgotten. Until we meet again.

Angela and I would like to send our deepest condolences to Charles and the rest of his family as well as the town and every one that knew both Joan and Bill. It's hard to talk about Joan without talking about Bill and Music Country and vice versa. If you grew up in Cliffside you knew Joan and Bill from Music Country. So many people had embedded them in fond memories of growing up in Cliffside. Music Country was more than just a music store, for most of us it was our first interaction with music and culture in our childhoods. Joan and Bill WERE Music Country. It was a reflection of who they were. Giving joy, pleasure, rhythm and music to our lives in this small corner of the world. It was an honor to know Joan and Bill for many years. While we mourn the loss of Joan and Bill's life we celebrate what they gave all of us. Beautiful memories and a love for music and culture.

To Joan’s Family: Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. Your parents were wonderful people. They were the backdrop of our lives in Cliffside Park… So many of us have fond and loving memories of them both. May they rest in peace together and may you find peace and happiness trusting how much they meant to all of us in town.

Joan nurtured the musical dreams of countless people who passed through the shop. She had the patience, grace and kindness and time to listen to people share their thoughts on music and, at times, their personal feelings.
As as part of the record collecting community, Music Country , the oldest record shop in the country was a must-go-to for the savvy shopper.
She had a beautiful voice and when she and Billy harmonized it was a little bit of the Everly Brothers brought to Cliffside.
It was a different world when you stepped inside that shop, a better one and we will never see the like of it again. I'll miss her and I miss Billy.
God bless them and the joy they brought to us.

Bill and Joan's lives were a symphony of kindness, joy, and love and those notes will never fade. May the melodies they cherished continue to bring you comfort and may their song live on in our hearts forever. Thinking and praying for you during this difficult time.
Their song will always be part of the soundtrack of our lives.
