Obituary of Marjorie Ann Guinan
Marjorie “Midge” Guinan
Marjorie “Midge” Guinan, affectionately known as “Nanny” to her 11 grandchildren, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 82 years old.
Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, on June 27, 1943, Midge lived a life full of strength, style, and devotion to her family. She married William “Bill” Guinan, and together they built a life until his passing in 2019. Midge was predeceased by her brother Robert and sister MaryLou, and is survived by her brother Thomas (Judy) and her nephew Robbie.
Midge is survived by her children: Daren (Steven), William (KerryAnn), Connor, Courtney (Christopher), and Andrew (Kristin). She was “Nanny” to her grandchildren: Max, MaryCate, Ryan Mary, Patrick, Annie, Caragh, Dempsey, Timmy, William, Claire, and Jack, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
While her family was always her greatest joy, Midge also built a remarkable professional life. She was known for her quick wit and fearless spirit, which carried her through a long career in sales, including many years with Mercedes-Benz. Entering the corporate world in the 1970s, she was a trailblazer for women in business, breaking barriers in what was then a male-dominated industry. Her determination and professionalism set an example for those who followed, while her success gave her children and grandchildren a model of independence and resilience to admire.
She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, impeccable style, and unwavering love for her children and grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, the weekend after Thanksgiving, with details to be shared with family and friends.
