Obituary of Hugo Antonio Palavicino

    1942 – 2025

     Hugo Palavicino, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, in Cambridge, MA. Born in Santiago, Chile in 1942, Hugo’s life was defined by his deep love for his family and the simple joys that brought him happiness.

     He is remembered by his wife, Ivette; his children, Jose, Caroline, and Jacqueline; and his cherished grandchildren, Ivette, Thaila, Ethan, Aria, and a granddaughter on the way. He now joins his late daughter Arangellis in Heaven. Hugo was a beloved father whose determination, resilience, and steady presence touched all who knew him. He treasured the time spent with his family, the calming presence of the beach and the sunset, the rhythm of music and dancing, and the spirited competition of a good tennis match.

     Hugo’s legacy of love and connection lives on in the lives of those he held closest.      Hugo’s wish was that his life might help others afflicted by the same disease that afflicted him. In that spirit, he made the decision to donate his brain to the Harvard/McLean Brain Bank.      Hugo loved deeply, showed up fully, and leaves behind a family forever shaped by his presence. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

     Visitation will be held at McCorry Brothers on Saturday December 20, 2025, from 9:30-11:30 AM thence to Epiphany Church, 247 Knox Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ, for Mass at 12 PM.  Burial to follow in George Washington Memorial Park 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ
