Obituary of Vincent Francis Pitrelli

Vincent F. Pitrelli passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, integrity, and kindness that will continue to live on through all who knew him.

Vincent shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, his beloved wife, Meta. Together they built a family that became the center of his world and his greatest source of pride and joy. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Meta; his sons, Vincent Michael Pitrelli and his wife Lina Pitrelli, and Scott Joseph Pitrelli and his wife Jennifer Pitrelli; his cherished brother, Peter Pitrelli; his beloved sister, Julia Pitrelli; and his treasured grandchildren, Marina, Vincent, Aria, Gavin, and Harper, who were the light of his life.

For 36 years, Vincent dedicated himself to the students, teachers, and families of the West New York Board of Education, serving with distinction as both a teacher and vice-principal. He believed deeply in the power of education and worked tirelessly to encourage generations of young people to become their very best.

Beyond the classroom, Vincent had an enduring passion for baseball. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, he found joy in the game both as a spectator and as a mentor.  Vinny was always found sitting in the stands to watch all of his sons and grandchildren's sporting events.  He proudly coached high school baseball at Memorial High School and Bergenfield High School, where he taught not only the fundamentals of the game but also the importance of discipline, teamwork, and character. Many of his players carried those lessons with them long after the final inning.

Of all the roles Vincent held throughout his life, none meant more to him than being a husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He often said, “Without family, you have nothing,” and those words were more than a saying—they were the way he lived his life every single day.

His love for his family was unconditional, unwavering, and evident in everything he did.

Vincent will be remembered for his generous heart, quiet strength, wisdom, humility, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His influence reached far beyond his own family, connecting with countless students, athletes, colleagues, and friends whose lives were made better because they knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his lessons, values, and love will remain with those who were fortunate enough to call him husband, father, brother, grandfather, coach, educator, and friend.

His family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in every life he touched and in the generations who will continue to be guided by the example he set.

May he rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 3PM-8PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave., Fort Lee, NJ. Please gather at St Therese Church, 120 Monroe Ave, Cresskill, NJ 07626, Thursday, July 2, 2026, for Mass at 12:00PM, then to George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, New Jersey for burial.
