I am, Mary’s only niece, Karen. Aunt Maa, as we called her, was like a second mother to my brother, Wayne and me, after our mom and her sister, Olga, became ill in 1965. She and our grandparents were always there for us during those difficult times. I have wonderful childhood memories of eating meals together, trips to Long Island to see cousins, trips to the NJ shore for two weeks in the summer, just to mention a few.
Even though at times her frankness and brutal honesty could be irritating, she was a very loving, caring and generous person. As I think about the legacy she is leaving, it was her spirit of generosity that comes to my mind and I want to continue with that legacy.
I love you Aunt Maa and there will be a big void in my life without you, going forward.
Love always,
Karen
I would like to conclude with one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible which is John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Dear Aunt Maa,
Thank you for everything you did for me over the last 75 years. You were a truly great daughter and sister. I miss you but I am comforted to think you are with Pop, Mom, Son and Sis again. Rest in peace.
Love always,
Wayne
