Obituary of Salvatore Louis Santoro

Heaven gained a smiling angel on July 11, 2016. Salvatore Louis Santoro, 53, of Cliffside Park, NJ. Beloved son to Genevieve (Jane) Santoro (nee Melone) and the late Salvatore Santoro. Beloved brother to Genna Makarewicz (nee Santoro) and her late husband Sean Makarewicz. Adored uncle to Nicholas and Jenny Makarewicz who meant the world to him. Beloved nephew to Louis and Brigitte Melone and Larry and Jeannette Melone as well as many cousins whom he loved so much. He will be sorely missed by his Cliffside Park lifelong friends whom he loved and was always there for. He graduated from Cliffside Park High School in 1981 and graduated from Ohio University where he made lifelong friends. He was proud to be a member of the I.A.T.S.E. Local 632 where he worked as a stagehand for events at the Meadowlands and Prudential Center. For those that knew him best, he loved sports and could talk sports all day long. He enjoyed everything from horse racing to golf but he loved baseball and was a huge fan of the NY Mets, NY Yankees and loyally stuck by his NY Jets year after year. Memorial visitation on Friday, July 15, 2016, from 4-9 PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Our Lady of Grace Church, 395 Delano Place, Fairview, NJ, for a Memorial Mass at 10 AM. Inurnment will take place at Fairview Mausoleum at a later date.
