Obituary of Richard Wong
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Richard Wong of Ridgefield, NJ passed away on Thursday morning, April 2, 2020. It is with our deepest regret and broken hearts to announce the passing of our father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Richard was born in Niskayuno, New York to Denny and Boo Yoke Wong. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He served in the Security Police at Whiteman Air Force Base, MO and Taiwan with an honorable discharge in 1973. When he returned, he received his Bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University and his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
He worked at various corporations during his career including: KPMG Peat Marwick, and Fortune 500 companies, such as Warner Lambert and Medco. He retired from Medco and became Grandpa extraordinaire, driving his grandkids to activities and making all of our lives brighter.
He enjoyed competitive target shooting, automobiles, and SCI-FI. Luckily, he was able to meet his hero William Shatner from the original Star Trek series this year.
Richard is survived by his brother and two sisters, his children and grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone who has reached out and the support they have received during this difficult time.
Due to the current health crisis a private burial in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ, will be handled privately by McCorry Brothers Cliffside Park, NJ, with a celebration of his life at a later date.
