RICCI - Angelo J., 94, of Marlboro, NJ, formerly of Cliffside Park, and Fort Lee, NJ, passed away peacefully at his son's residence in Connecticut, with his loving son James at his side on January 13, 2012. Devoted husband of the late Lee (nee Scaturro). Loving father of James Ricci of Trumbull, CT. Cherished grandfather of Christopher and Matthew Ricci. Decorated World II US Army Veteran, survivor of Normandy, First Engineer Brigade proudly served his country from Aug. 6, 1942 - Jan 12, 1945 in the 479th Amphibious Truck Company 752nd Tank Battalion. His notable campaigns included the Rome Arno; Naples-Foggia, Normandy, Northern France, and Tunisia. His bravery earned him four combat stars, Croix de Guerre With Palms, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Bronze Service Arrowhead Medal. After the war, he became an assembly worker at Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, NJ, for 26 years. He enjoyed a daily glass of Johnnie Walker Black Label while watching his beloved New York Yankees. He was also a passionate horse racing fan and loved to attend the races. Funeral from McCorry Brothers, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ, on Tuesday, January, 17, 2012, at 10:15 AM. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Madonna Church (in The Cemetery), Fort Lee, at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee, NJ. Visiting hours on Monday, from 5-8 PM.
