Obituary of Josephine C. Gemignani

GEMIGNANI- Josephine C. (nee Signa), on May 12, 2012, of Cliffside Park, NJ. Age 96. Beloved wife of the late Angelo Gemignani. Loving mother of Amelia Di Fiore (Matthew) and Joseph Gemignani (Janet). Dear grandmother of Anthony Di Fiore (Kristin), Nicholas Di Fiore (Ioana), Nathan Gemignani (Angela), and Laura Gemignani. Loving great grandmother of Sofia and Gisella Di Fiore and Veronica and Bianca Gemignani. Mrs. Gemignani immigrated from Alimena, Sicily in 1919. She graduated from East Rutherford High School in 1933. She worked as a Woolworth store opener prior to her marriage. Later she and her husband operated Gemignani Pharmacy in Cliffside Park. An expert knitter, her sweaters were featured by Tahki and Missioni in their advertisements and in national magazines. Funeral from McCorry Brothers on Tuesday May 15, 2012 at 9:15AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Epiphany RC Church, 247 Knox Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Patk, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
