SCOTT - Derrick Akoba, 42, died on Sunday morning, June 9th, at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck New Jersey. Born in Philadelphia, Derrick resided in New York City; Cliffside Park; Neptune, NJ; and Philadelphia prior to moving back to The Greenhouse in Cliffside Park, NJ. He worked as an Assistant Manager for JMB Investigations in Philadelphia before moving back to New Jersey. He is survived by his mother, Alma Scott-Buczak and father, William Buczak of Cliffside Park, NJ. He is also survived by a sister, Tanique Brown; a brother, Antoine Brown; a son, Michael A. Crump; a daughter Ashley E. Crump; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends. The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 9:15 AM (viewing from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM) at the Brand New Life Christian Center located at 6301 Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Thomas Harrison and Georgiabelle Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania 18042-1768 or the Rescue Me!
