Mittelholzer-Muriel Margaret was born on Groundhog Day - February 2, 1918 in the village of Patchogue on Long Island, New York. She was the youngest of three children born to Ernest and Margaret Mittelholzer. Ms. Mittelholzer was a graduate of Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland (Class of 1940) and a member of Cercle Francais, glee club, classical society, YWCA, Sigma Tau Delta and Alpha Omicron Pi. She was remembered by her classmates as a persistent optimist, independent and care free spirit, debonair socialite and Jersey transfer. Ms. Mittelholzer was known to her three nephews as "Auntie Moo". She was forever kind, generous and the Mittelholzer family's version of "Auntie Mame". Ms. Mittelholzer worked for First National City Bank in New York City for many years before her retirement in 1974. Prior to her moving to Massachusetts in 2008 to be closer to family, Ms. Mittelholzer was a parishioner at St. Nicholas Church in Palisades Park, NJ. She died peacefully in her sleep at age 95 at the Loomis Nursing Home in South Hadley, MA. Ms. Mittelholzer is survived by her three nephews, Ernest M. Mittelholzer, Jr. of South Hadley, Massachusetts, George E. Mittelholzer of The Woodlands, Texas and Robert T. Mittelholzer of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and their families. Funeral service at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ today at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass then to be celebrated at Church of The Epiphany, 247 Knox Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, NJ. Visitation today 8:15 AM - 9:15 AM.
