Dear Johnny,
It seems surreal that you aren't with us anymore ..I keep going back to our long conversations, the mentoring and guidance you gave and remembering the fun times we had these past few years! A small glimpse of it is seen in the Virtual Christmas party photo we took last year .. this is what I will remember you by! We miss you! May you rest in peace and hope in this afterlife you enjoy that beautiful beach in Thailand in the BBQ shack you dreamt of retiring to!

I worked closely with Johnny for the past 18 months. He was a great leader and confidant and truly supported my growth. I don’t have words to describe how sorry I am to hear of his passing. I am wishing you strength and comfort in this trying time. He was a good man and will be truly missed.

Johnny brought me to Reuters about 10+ years ago, I still remember the first time we met during the interview, he was such a great mentor and friend, taught me a lot of things. I was heart broken and still cannot believe this was true. My prayers are with Huan, Benjamin and the whole family.

Johnny was my boss and colleague in Reuters 10 years ago. He is such a great person with passion, creativity and a warm heart. I was very sad and heart broken when I heard about Johnny's sudden death and didn't want to believe that it was true. Johnny was my mentor, senior colleague and former boss at Elsevier not too long ago. He brought me to the Elsevier. He taught me many valuable lessons about being good leader (and some cases not good leader). He was fantastic problem solver, a friend, fun to talk with about anything and everything (personal or professional) and above all very generous. He was always available to help others.

What a tragic news.... :( I was a consultant for a team lead by Johnny. He was one of the people who instantly became more than just a "client" for the whole team. So many moments of him finding the most interesting questions to ask, and most interesting problems to tackle, and considering everyone's words in any conversation with an open mind. So much pleasure in discussing simple things like gardening or house construction projects or kids outside of work. He was an amazing person and will be remembered by everyone he touched. Deep condolences to the family. It is never "on time" for anyone. But it is still way too early for him.
