It is with great sorrow that I learned of Niki's premature departure. Having known him for only a few days we had the opportunity to share in common dialogue and experience the laid back environment of the Caribbean. On the last day of our adventure I took Niki to the airport.. As I drove away through a momentary glance our eyes connected and Niki gave me a good bye wave while displaying his remarkable smile. It is this memory of Niki, the smile, the backpack and the person that will always be imbedded in my mind. Realizing that when someone passes their is always an imediate family that is greatly impacted but also a mother, he was some mothers son.. Please accept my sincere condolences.

I am sooooo sorry for your loss…Nick was awesome….I had the pleasure of knowing him though Charles Demarest. We went to Vegas a couple of years ago together and had a blast. I will miss him doing Yoga at the pool and everyone looking at him like he was crazy…Love that guy!!!!

I never met Nik but have heard nothing but good things about him. He epitomized what being a brother is all about. I have lost some other brothers of Kappa Xi Kappa since I pledged in 1973. I'm hoping Nik finds them and looks over the rest of us.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of one of the greatest members of our NJIT Fraternity. Nik was a man I looked up to heavily as a young member of the brotherhood. He was an outstanding role model. He was dedicated, skilled, knowledgeable, and capable both technically, morally, and in life experiences.
When you were with him, you could see in his eyes and feel in his presence that he was there for you, that he sincerely cared about you as a friend, and that you yourself would be a better man for knowing him and emulating his energy.
I will never forget my fraternity brother Nikolas Samouhos and what he taught me, first as a teacher, next as an equal, and forever as a friend. My sincerest condolences to the family of this great man, who have lost an irreplaceable part of their life.
