Carmine Lombardo, 82, of Fairview, NJ, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on February 18, 2023.  Carmine was born on September 26, 1940, in Englewood, NJ, to Michael and Helen (Russo) Lombardo.  He attended Memorial High School in West New York where he met Janet (Brown), his wife of 58 years.

After graduating high school, he enrolled in the U.S. Navy and served as an Aviation Machinist Mate aboard the first nuclear aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise (CVN-65).  Following the Navy, Carmine was employed as a mechanic by Red Star Express Lines and North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue until his retirement.  He often spent his spare time researching topics of interest on his iPad. He enjoyed watching Colombo, attending McDonalds breakfast club, and rooting for the NY Giants. He also enjoyed word searches and hidden picture puzzles.

Carmine is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Lisa (Manoj) of Frederick, MD; son Matthew of Fairview, NJ; grandchildren Nicholas Maniyar, Madison Lombardo, and Matthew Lombardo. Carmine was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Antonio, and his best canine companions Waldo, Peixe, and Patriot.  A Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, 395 Delano Pl., Fairview, NJ, on Wednesday February 22, 2023 at 10:30 AM.  Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements by McCorry Brothers, Cliffside Park, NJ.
