My heart is broken. I have know Bill and Joan for over 50 years. I was always impressed by their love and devotion to family and each other. I have spent hundreds if not thousands of hours at the Record Store. Sometimes we helped customers. Sometimes we jammed. Sometimes we listened to music. Sometimes we just talked. I learned a lot at the Record Store. You see the Record Store was not just a place just to buy a record or a music book or a guitar string. It was a place where everyone was welcome. All ages, all backgrounds, all colors, it didn't matter, you were a friend. All kinds of people stopped by. Everyone has a story and you could tell it at the Record Store. Besides my parents I think Bill and Joan had the biggest influence on me as a young teenager. I spoke to Joan yesterday. She said they were married for 62 years. My heart aches for her. Hopefully she can lean on the friends and memories they made at the Record Store. God bless them both.

My deepest sympathy and love to the Demarest family. I met the Demarest Family at a super young age. I have to many great memories to just add one.I will miss seeing him and chatting for sometimes hours. Hanging out in the store with his children as a child were great times. I will remember him always. My heart hurts.

Q: What will you never forget about William?
A: Bill and I used to play music in the record shop. I taught him how to play blues harp. Bill and Joan played a few songs at our wedding in 1972. When visiting New Jersey it was always great to visit him in the store. Before covid was the last time Bill, Joan and I played music in the back of the store. It was always a joy. He was always learning. Always happy to see us. Our prayers are with Joan and her family now. Our heavenly Father will keep him in his memory until his resurrection. "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." John 5:28,29

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of William?
A: Bill was an exceptionally kind and quiet man. He and Joan were great neighbors and friends. Besides their beautiful family, music was the essence of Bill and Joan's life. Winston and I will forever remember the great moments in our home and backyard....they were musically magic moments. There were many favorite qualities about Bill, but the one that ultimately stands-out the most is the loving and caring father, husband and grandfather he was. He left a great legacy.
Rest in eternal peace, Bill.
