Obituary of Joseph Benigno

     Joseph Benigno, 85, of Dumont and Cliffside Park, NJ, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  Joseph was born on February 9, 1938 to the late Salvatore and Jennie Benigno and grew up in Union City, NJ.  He attended St. Josephs High School in West New York, NJ. He owned his own tool and die company in Union City, NJ with his brother.  He enjoyed sports, spending time with his grandchildren and watching the Giants and the Yankees.

     He is survived by his beloved wife Linda of 57 years, cherished father to Donna Mazzone and her husband Steve, Michelle Anastassatos and her husband Bill and step son Chris.  Loving grandfather to Dylan, Jenna, Gerry & Joey.  Loving brother to the late Anthony Benigno and his wife Ann, Grace Spadaccini and her late husband Nick and Ninfa Verpent and her husband Greg.

     Visitation will be held at McCorry Brothers, 780 Anderson Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ, on Tuesday June 6, from 5-9 PM.  Funeral from McCorry Brothers on Wednesday at 11:15 AM thence to Epiphany Church, 247 Knox Avenue, Cliffside Park for Mass at 12 PM.  

     In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Joseph’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
