SCALLON – Veronica "Ronnie" Frances (nee Skelly), of Sparkill, NY formerly of Bergenfield, NJ, 92, passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2016 at home. She was born on June 15, 1924 to Joseph and Kathleen Skelly in New York, NY. Ronnie graduated from St. Lawrence Academy and received her Bachelors degree from Good Counsel. She married William Scallon on Nov. 23, 1946. Ronnie was a life-long member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #6467 of Bergenfield, NJ. She loved to travel the world with her family and friends including Terri and Frank, and her friends from the "Block" Sylvamdur Avenue. Ronnie and her family lived on the "Block" for over 60 years. Ronnie is survived by her daughters Barbara Scallon and Judy McAvoy (John) and a son William Scallon (Frances), three grandchildren, William, Veronica Sage and Lauren, and a great grandchild William. She was predeceased by her loving husband William J. Scallon. Her family is forever grateful to Natalee for her loving and compassionate care she gave Ronnie for over 2 ½ years and to Sally for her support and assistance. The family will receive friends on Wed., Nov. 9, 2016 from 4-8 PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ. Service at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Veronica Scallon to the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6467, 321 S.
