Obituary of George Andrew Meller

MELLER-George Andrew, 85, of Cliffside Park, passed away on September 15, 2017. He is the son of Henry and Sophie, and the brother of Henry Jr and Edward (Jerry). He was the husband of Constance Ann (Harrington). Caring father of George Jr and his wife Jackie, Peter and his wife Heather, and Michael and his wife Lisa. Devoted grandfather to 6 loving grandchildren; Doreen, Tyler, Sydney, Charlotte, Sophia, and Paige.

He spent many years in the restaurant business as well as running his own businesses. George loved the beach, the occasional trip to the casino and taking road trips with his wife.  George was a graduate of Cliffside Park High School, Fairleigh Dickinson University and a very proud Navy veteran.  Music was very special to George, as a young man he played the cello in the Bergen County Orchestra. Spending time with his brother and extended family brought him great joy. George was a lifelong Giant and Yankee fan who always enjoyed watching them play. He will truly be missed by all.

Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Church of the Epiphany 247 Knox Ave, Cliffside Park, at 10:00 AM. on Thurs September 21, 2017, then to Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.  Visiting hours on Wednesday, September  20, 2017, from 4-8 PM at McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ.
