Joseph C. Dickman Sr., 82, of Cliffside Park NJ, passed away suddenly on Thursday April 9th, 2020 at Hackensack University Medical Center due to complications from the tragic COVID-19 virus.
Born December 16, 1937 in Teaneck NJ to Agnes (Higgins) and George Dickman. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Claire Louise Dickman (Murphy), grandson Derek Haas, and brothers George, John, Robert, and Henry.
He was a lifelong resident of Cliffside Park and public servant for 36 years within the Cliffside Park Police Department. He achieved the rank of Chief of Police before retiring in 2005.
Surviving are his daughters; Debra Ann Haas and husband William, Linda M. Dickman-De Simone; sons, Joseph C. Dickman Jr. and wife Donna, Michael T. Dickman; grandchildren, William Haas Jr. and wife Kendra, CheriAnn Haas Niforatos and husband Tasse, Timothy Haas and wife Tanya, Justin Haas, Jaclyn Hamlin and husband Tom, Christopher Dickman, Kaitlyn Haas; great grandchildren, William Haas, Max Haas, Luke Haas, Stavros Niforatos, Athena Niforatos, Anastasia Niforatos, Wyatt Joseph Hamlin and Eliana Claire Haas; brother Richard Dickman of Saddlebrook.
A Mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date and he will be taken to Madonna Mausoleum.
