My sincere condolences to Emil, Jim, Jeff, Tim, and Mary. I know it is a desolate feeling after the last of our two parents
dies and passes on to join the first one who has already left this world. It's a strange, unexpected feeling of now we're really alone and on our own now--and we are grown ups!
Eileen never mentioned that Emil had been in the Navy, even tho I think she knew my father also was a WWII veteran.
Both Emil and my father were in Okinawa, too (different ships).
She did tell me about Emil's career in the music business--she knew I love rock 'n roll (the classic stuff starting from late 60's). And I knew he played the piano. One thing for sure, Emil and Eileen seemed to be meant for each other, and
they loved each other rite to the end. Never a dull moment during their family life together from what Eileen told me.
I never really met Emil, but I think he worked hard and I respect him for that.
