Beloved Abner,
My brother, my life would have been different without you. We grew together at awe of each other in many ways. The day I got my pharmacy degree I thank God first, and you second. Your encouragement was so strong and support was best to none, I love you so much and saw our retirement sharing many great memories. You followed my military career like if you wore my uniform. You allowed me to be a surrogate mother for Amanda & Scotty in two periods of their life; Amanda-so witty and Scotty-the charming-man. Both, so well mannered like you. It was one of my favorite years! Our talks and views around the world taught me so much. You enjoyed coffee and my last gift to you was Starbuck coffee for Christmas and Lynah told me you enjoyed it. I can't see ahead of life without you. You were a very special person in my heart and now you left me (us). I always felt Lynah, and the kids were all part of me. Abner I felt I always had your back, and you always had mine. God needed you in heaven and you left so prematurely. This is unbelievable and what's next without you. I love you brother. I love you so much. I love you! Thank-YOU brother. I love YOU!
Your Sister, Thirsa.

Abner Martinez Rodriguez was my uncle. I didn't have the opportunity to spend much time with him, but every time I saw him he was a funny guy and always had an upbeat personality. He was a very special person who touched the hearts of those around him and loved his family very much. A truly great loss to our entire Martinez family! We will miss you dearly. My condolences to his wife aunt Lynah, his two children Amanda and Scotty, and both his grand kids Max and Nathaniel, as well as all his brothers and sisters. God bless all of you and I know my uncle is in Gods hands!

You my friend will never be forgotten. When you walked into a room your presence was felt by all, I used to joke that you must’ve been a politician shaking hands and kissing babies along the way because everyone knew who Abner was. I sure did and I am better for knowing you. I am saddened that you will not be taking your jabs at me at the table anymore and I will look in the seat were you should be and smile at the memories you have left on all of us. Your Unionism, your drive, your humor and your spirit will not be forgotten and you have left your mark my friend. Until we see each other again but for now Sleep in peace.

Will I have a lot of memories of my brother Abner. One that I will never forget is when I was 12 years old me and Abner we borrow our father car.(better yet we stole it). I had ask Abner to teach me how to drive. On that day while he was teaching me how to drive I went down a the mountain Cliff with him and as we were going down the mountain cliff we all started to scream. "We're going to die, "we're going to die". As we were getting to the bottom of the cliff; Abner has said to me give a gas give it gas and let's go up and that's what I did when we got up from that mountain cliff I shitted in my pants and I'll never forget that as long as I live. We did a lot of things together but we were in Puerto Rico. We also did a lot of things in that crooked House of his that he had at 75th Street North Bergen. One time in Puerto Rico I believe it was several years ago we were at our father's house looking at the terrain and I told him look we can dig a couple people down here and he looked at me and he said why don't we go to the cemetery in Sabana Hojo and we dig out our parents out and we put them in the backyard in the house. I told him that's a good idea. At least we could build a nice concrete managerial museum of all the memories we had in our parents house. Another memory that I have was when he crashed my dad's car we decided to replace the whole exterior of the car right in the backyard of the house with cinder blocks. Let me tell you a work nice. I will miss you a lot.
